BRONZE TONE- PRODUCT REVIEW

Happy new month to everyone. This is my first post in this month, so I decided to do a product review. Here it goes :

I came back from a field trip and was welcomed by a family member. I immediately noticed her skin tone was lighter, not whitish or that color you notice when one is using a bleaching cream.
So I asked what she was using, she said 'Bronze Tone'.

After a couple of weeks, she noticed the sides of her face was darker and she called my attention to it, seeking for a product to even her skin tone.
I gave her my handmade lotion (made with coconut oil, turmeric oil and a skin corrector serum) and lemongrass soap to use on her face while I recommended olive oil for her feet and knuckles.
Its been two weeks since she stopped using the cream, though she still uses it on her body. She applies my handmade cream on her face and use the olive oil for her feet. Her complexion is quite toned now and the marks have almost faded.

Personally, I think the cream is good for skin lightening but it contains no sunscreen, hence the sun burn issue. I also think if you use it for long, you might get an uneven skin tone.

To use it, I recommend mixing it with a complexion unifier serum and using a sunscreen when going out.
You can also just use it for a couple of weeks until you get your desired skin tone, then stop.
As for the ingredients, I have no idea what most of them are, although I see no hydroquinone or kojic. The recognizable ones are stearic acid, cocoa butter, glycerine, honey extracts and citric acid.

So there you have it, a review. I hope you love this. Have a blessed week.

Please note:Most of the reviews on this blog are first hand, which means it has been used by me, a family member or friends. Buy Bronze Tone Lotion here
  1. Well the bronze body lotion 😘, but i guess it depends on the type of akin that one has ........, but i highly recommend when using the cream or lotin try mixing it up with a serum or any lotion that is bare example vaseline, so as it dosen't give you any black nuckels

    1. You sure know your cream mixing 101. Mixing with a serum or essential oil helps a lot. I never use any whitening product without mixing with an essential oil.

    1. Hello
Bronze tone lightens and may weaken your skin. To regain your skin tone, I would suggest a whitening soap and a glow oil made with natural ingredients. The soap and glow oil used with an exfoliating scrub would balance out your skin tone. Cheers

Next time when buying a new bottle, get Crude Kenacol nd essential oil like Ginger or Neem or simply melt Shea Butter and mix into the lotion. Stir thoroughly so that the Shea Butter would blend well with the lotion

  21. Omg! To think that this same thing happened to me even though I mixed mine with Aloe Vera. I was looking good and feeling myself after the first 2 weeks. Later, my face started getting fairer, and the side of my face still dark... God! And it was having any other effect on the other parts of my body (well except my leg). It was annoying. I had to stop, go get Nivea Cocoa butter. I still continue with the Bronze tone for my body though (except for my face and leg). Thinking of moving away from Nivea.

Sozaya, pls which cream do you recommend for a dark skinned guy who just want to glow (lol)? Palmers? i saw reviews today and I'm thinking I should try it. What do you think?

    1. Lol. Try the original or foreign Jergens. There are two types in the market. The original or foreign variant is more expensive but very moisturizing and always use sunscreen and a soap like Hawaii

    2. Jergens skin care cocoa butter, right? Or shea butter? I use dudu Osun soap now. I'll try that Hawaii.

      Delete
    3. And how do I differenciate between the original or foreign variant from the other one? How much does it go for? Thanks

      Delete
    4. The price is usually the first thing that would alert you. The foreign variant is more expensive and the colour of the packaging is warmer. The foreign one goes for about 3500 Naira while the local variant is about 1500-2500. The Shea Butter variant is quite nice

    5. Visit the official Jergens site to see the original variant-https://www.jergens.com/en-us/products/daily-moisturizers/

  24. Hi Sozanya,I've been using Bronze tone for a little over a year and it works fine with my skin tone (thats what i thought at first)until I started having really dried up and black knuckles and my feet oh my feet! Its nothing to write home about and my kneecap is not so appealing well its dark like charcoal itself and yea, I got the exfoliating soap yesterday. At this point, I'm lost not that I intend to stop using the cream (I think it works well with my skin tone exclusion of the aforementioned factors) Sozaya please help me, i want to get rid of the dark knuckles and the kneecap and I want a nice feet. Please tell me what I can do. Thanks

    1. Hello Tara,
I'm sorry you had such an awful experience with this product. You need to get an exfoliator or a peeling cream that works slowly. Glytone feet cream is an amazing product that helps get rid of dark feet. If you can't get Glytone, get the Exfoliator with Piment Doux serum and Cleanser.. Use twice daily. I have also read reviews about using Vitamin C serum or ointment for dark feet, knuckles and elbows. You can try that out as well. Please, let me know of any update or improvement. You can also contact us directly using any of the contacts on our contact page and a therapist would get back to you.

    1. Hello Alexa,
I think the lotion contains hydroquinone or steriods because the results are typical of a cream containing such

      Delete
  28. Is it good to use a cream containing hydroquinone

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. A cream containing hydroquinone is preferably for treating melasma instead of long term use. The recommended percentage usagee in any cream is 2%. Do not use any product containing more than this.

  32. Good day Sozaya, I'm a guy dark skinned, I was using pure skin initially then after a while u noticed if I stopped using it I dark spots and wounds on my face and decided to stop using it., I don't want to white my skin,or tone it, I just want to bright cos it's quite dull. What cream or soap do u suggest that I can use for the long run that during usage won't cause any nonsense on my skin and probably if I stop using I won't have issues.. thanks in advance.

    1. Hello Anon,
My first choice was you would be Amlactin lotion or Clear Nature Body oil. Use with a good exfoliator and soap. You can use Clear Nature Exfoliating soap as well. It might not work rapidly but you would love the results in the end.
