THE SECRET TO A GLOWING SKIN

14 Jan 2017

The secret to a glowing skin is having a steady routine with the right products for your skin type.  My basic skincare routine usually involve cleansing, exfoliating, toning, moisturizing and protection (outdoors). The products usually change with each season but I make sure I follow the routine. I am in my 20's , hence anti-aging and moisturizing products have become permanent products in my kit. I stopped using products that weakens the skin and started making my skincare kits since four years ago.
Usually, people think just applying creams alone is enough, but unfortunately without a routine and a skincare kit, your beauty products would be ineffective.
I have received complaints from clients complaining about products not working on their skin at all, uneven complexion, breakouts or burns; the secret to eradicating all of them is having a routine.
I seldom use beauty products. My everyday beauty products include an oil control talcum powder, eyeliner, lip-gloss and eyebrow filler. On rare occasions, I use concealer and matte powder. I have an oily skin, hence I prefer keeping my make up light. This is why I pay close attention to my skin and make sure it is free from spots, breakouts and burns.
.Like I said earlier, I have a skincare routine and it has worked wonders for me. My skincare routine involves the following:

Cleansing
The first thing I do every day is soak a wash cloth in hot water and place it over my face for several minutes until it cools up. This helps to open my skin pores and prepare my face for the other products. I usually use Cussons baby face wipes to cleanse or I make my cleanser using lemon glycerine, honey, camwood powder and banana oil ( the recipe can be found in my e-book) when I have the time. I also use my home made body wash made with papaya, honey, camwood powder, and Vitamin B3.

 Exfoliating
I apply a homemade, natural face mask or scrub once or twice per week.My favourite mask is made with mashed banana, lemon juice and honey while my favorite scrub is made with rice flour and goat milk. ( yummy goodness).

Toning

I apply a natural toner made from lemon juice and water.  You can make this by filling a water bottle or other container with one part freshly squeezed lemon juice and five parts filtered water. Apply the lemon juice toner with a cotton ball and do not rinse off.

 Moisturizing

I  massage my face with nourishing oils --  I use my midnight glow oil. My skin is oily and sensitive but after using this oil for a week, there was no breakouts rather my face was glowing. To complete this step, I apply my skin glow cream made with grapeseed oil, fruit acids, arbutin and Kojic acid. I usually use it during the day because it is light and easily gets absorbed into the skin. At night, I use the oil alone.

Note: All recipes for the above products are all in my e- book. For people in other parts of the world apart from Nigeria, please use payment platform on the sidebar to purchase your copy while those residing in Nigeria can make bank deposit.

It is very important to have a routine. It's a bit difficult to follow, but once you get used to it, you would see the difference in your skin. Do you have a skincare routine? If not, start one today and start glowing.

Until my next post, remain beautiful.
